Hey Jeff,
I think I'm gonna start a new thread with ideas 4 & 5.
Open Mind
this is not one of those 'farewell' threads, 'gotta' go' threads, or 'bye' threads.
because i know myself well enough to say that i would not honor my own exit - i would soon be back, .
but in all honesty, i am finding my desire to be on this forum less and less compelling.

Hey Jeff:
Loved your post and here are a few of my "rambling thoughts" about it.
1. You're an excellent, "readable" writer. I always look forward to reading your posts because I know the style will be enjoyable even if I don't agree with you. You are very much appreciated here.
2. Having said that, we all have to do what's best for ourselves. Some have moved on forever and if that's what's healthiest for them, I'm happy for them. I do, from a strictly selfish standpoint, miss a lot of "old-timers" who don't post here anymore.
3. I do think Good-Bye threads are considerate. But, like you, I think if I ever did one I'd probably be back here sooner or later. Also, I think the "Good-Bye for awhile" threads like Candidlynuts recently did are thoughtful as well.
4. One of my favorite "old-timer" posters, Farkel, has many times lamented the virtual blizzard of "fluff" that has become JWD. As a result, he doesn't post here too often. (My words, not his exactly, but you get the idea.) I think both fluff and substantive posts are helpful to many on JWD.
5. IDEA: What if we had a variation on the "BEST OF" section? Anyone who wanted could submit what they thought was a piece of high-quality writing to a panel of willing reviewers. If it was deemed good enough, it would be posted in the 'REALLY WELL-WRITTEN ARTICLES' section. Has this been hashed over a thousand times before?
Hoping you stay with JWD as long as it's a healthy place for you,

even though you might think it's painfully obvious, explain why you chose your avatar and/or username.
it could help us faceless "netizens" get to know each other a little better.

DJK:
In Final Fantasy VII, Cloud fights the forces of Jenovah. He saves the planet from a disease called the stigma.
Wow DJK! Sure sounds like Jenovah's Witlesses to me.
At least we don't have to fight alone.

while my wife acts "normal" in daily conversation, she avoids questioning me .

she occasionally asks what i am up to, and .

a little bit (not enough).
If you're up to it, could you give us an example or two? I've still got my "very strong, mature JW hat" on and I want to make the most of it before I slide into being "spiritually weak" either by my choice or getting blindsided by the gestapo.

an earlier discussion has been highlighting the differences between da'ing and df'ing.
xena said:i am sorry qadreena but i have never in the 20 some odd years i have been a jw ever heard of an unbaptised publisher being d/aed...marked as bad association yes..but d/a...no...but i guess stranger things can happen.... well that brought it all back.. actually xena the exact same thing happened to my brother in the early 80's.
he was only 14. he'd carried on associating with a friend of his who'd been disfellowshipped.
BTTT.
I've been posting about me & my DFed sibling here lately, but this post really deserves a BTTT.

the funny thing is that it really does work and will make you smile.
1. picture yourself lying on your belly on a warm rock that hangs out .
over a crystal clear stream.
You're sick, DJK.
I like that.

they said hello, we did not, we both just glared and looked through them.
might mention - these particular ones were only ever decent to us at the kh when they needed advice on buying a car (i was useful) or when their son's truck broke down and they needed mechanical help (my husband was useful).
plus, last year when we were moving a few blocks away, the wife drove by and stopped as we were outside loading a truck, and she gasped in horror at the sight of my handgun on my side.
Hey Pioneer Spittle:
Sorry if Ninja & I started "jacking" your thread a little.
Good point about some dubs just using you or your mate for what they could get. That's a point my loyal-dub wife is seeing very clearly as some dubs try and get special treatment or freebies from where she works. It's not anywhere near enough to break her loyalty, (yet ), but every little bit of hypocrisy helps.

hoho...is that siamese twin prostitutes?
No silly Ninja. It's an abbreviated form of a name one of my former coworkers used to use for JWs. He'd always say that we were those "crazed shampoo makers".................................... You know, ...................... Jojoba's Witnesses! .................Boooooo!! Groan!! I know. I know. I'll stop now. (For today ) Open Mind
